ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
As a DBA you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining the company’s databases.  You will work closely with multiple teams across the business to provide support and guidance relating the databases.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week.  Hybrid work from home and their fantastic offices in Auckland CBD.
  
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise
  • Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors
  • Protecting the database against threats or unauthorised access
  • Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in event of failure
  • Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind
  • Proactively managing database operations (on-premise and cloud)
  • Ensuring database servers are patched/updated regularly
  
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking someone with a passion for database performance and security, an analytical mindset, good problem solving skills, and first-class communication and interpersonal skills.  In addition you should bring the following technical capabilities/experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years’ of experience as a database administrator using MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Powershell scripting skills
  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
  • Experience with Cloud Database solutions advantageous
  • Experience with Kafka or Snowflake advantageous
  • Experience with source control technologies (Git, GitHub)
