ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for an ambitious developer to lead the execution, blending brand beauty; site & app ingenuity; and operational excellence into the best digital experience in the market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate on and convert design concepts (PSD/XD/Figma) into fully functional experiences on existing Shopify websites
Maintain existing Shopify websites to keep them at the highest standard and best in New Zealand from UI, new features, design changes, interactive landing pages to troubleshooting and bug fixing
Ensure optimal site speed and performance + technical SEO are at the forefront of all graphics, design and functional considerations and developments
Ensure high quality standards and brand consistency
Develop test plans and implement advanced debugging techniques across core browsers/devices
Improve usability and UX
Identify, recommend and execute new tech features and platforms
Keep up with e-commerce trends, new development techniques and innovative ways to improve customer journeys.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
Proven commercial experience of at least 2 years with the Shopify Platform
Proven commercial experience in HTML/CSS/HTML5 + responsive website development
Proven commercial experience in Javascript and Javascript Frameworks and technologies such as JQuery, React JS, TypeScript etc
Knowledge of version control eg: git, svn etc
Excellent multitasking skills and working to deadlines
Team player, collaborator and excellent communicator with strong attention to detail
Keen eye for design
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with Python
Degree in Computer Science or relevant field preferable
Passion for sports would be an advantage
Good sense of humour a bonus
