ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Senior Network Engineer you will play a critical role in designing, implementing and maintaining this company's network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and security of the network and will foster a positive relationship with the Network, Voice and Software engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
Collaborate with the DevOps team to plan and execute network upgrades and expansion projects
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network resources to ensure high availability
Maintain technical documentation and drawings and engage with internal teams for updates when required
Take ownership of escalated faults and work through to resolution
Ensure network compliance with industry standards and best practices
ABOUT YOU:
At least 4 years of experience in Telecommunications and/or a Service Provider
Excellent knowledge of netwotk protocols, TCP/IP, routing and switching
Good working knowledge of Linux
Experience with a varierty of networing equipment such as Juniper, Cisco, Mikrotik, CCNP/JNCIP
Knowledge of scripting and automation and its use in a networking environment is advantageous
