Key Responsibilities:
  
As a Senior Database and Integration Specialist, you will have a critical role in our organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Optimising Performance: Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve any issues that arise to ensure seamless operations.
  • Rapid Response: Respond promptly to user-reported errors, swiftly addressing them to minimize disruptions.
  • Fortify Security: Protect our valuable databases against threats and unauthorised access, maintaining the highest level of data integrity.
  • Reliability and Resilience: Develop and implement robust backup strategies, ensuring the database can be quickly recovered in the event of a failure.
  • User-Focused Design: Design databases with a user-centric approach, considering the needs of both front-end and back-end users for a seamless experience.
  • Efficient Operations: Proactively manage database operations, both on-premise and in the cloud, to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Stay Current: Regularly patch and update database servers to maintain the highest level of performance and security.
  
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with the following skills and qualifications:
  
  • Database Expertise: Extensive experience with SQL Server and related services, including SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Reporting Services, SQL cloud services, and SQL Server Analysis Services. Familiarity with processes such as Extract Transform Load (ETL) and Change Data Capture (CDC) is essential.
  • Cloud Computing Proficiency: Strong expertise in cloud computing technologies, particularly Azure SQL, Azure Integration Services, and Data Factory.
  • Effective Communication: Proficiency in various communication protocols/methods, such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST).
  • Development Languages: Demonstrated proficiency in development languages and tools, including .NET (C# & VB), Transact-SQL, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), XML, JavaScript, PowerShell, and HTML.
  • Source Code Management: Good familiarity with Source Code Management software, such as Azure DevOps Server and GitHub.
