Job description

About the Company:
If you're ready to lead a website to greatness, create exceptional user experiences, and make a lasting impact, we invite you to apply.

This company embodies customer-centricity, approaches challenges as one united team, always acts with integrity, and infuses their work with passion and a can-do attitude. Already a market leader in their industry, a household name, and a business you may have already purchased from yourself; this will be a key role to take their customer facing website to the next level.

Role Highlights:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our clients team as they elevate their website and online customer experience to new heights. As the Product Lead, you will have the opportunity to shape the evolution of our clients digital presence, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional solutions that exceed customer expectations.

As the Product Lead, you will lead the charge in making our website a truly exceptional digital destination. You'll manage a dedicated squad, including a team of developers, while focusing solely on the website and front-end experience. This role offers the chance to be the driving force behind our clients online strategy, integrating customer insights, strategic thinking, and operational execution to deliver tangible results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, gathering insights, understanding needs, and prioritizing requirements. Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Backlog Management: Take charge of the product backlog, refining user stories, prioritizing tasks, and adapting to changing market trends and customer feedback.
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with business goals and market demands. Balance short-term deliverables with long-term vision.
  • Agile Execution: Collaborate with development teams to plan and execute agile sprints effectively. Define sprint goals, scope, and priorities, ensuring alignment with user stories and requirements.
  • Change Leadership: Manage changes in requirements, priorities, and scope. Address potential obstacles proactively and communicate changes transparently to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee product testing activities, working closely with the QA team to define test plans, cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Customer Insights: Deeply understand the customer journey through user research, behavioral analysis, and feedback. Utilize insights to enhance the user experience and product value.
  • Technical Integration: Collaborate with technical teams to seamlessly integrate the product with related systems, platforms, and APIs.
  • SEO Excellence: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of SEO best practices throughout the product lifecycle. Optimise product features and content for enhanced search engine visibility.
Please note that this role will not require expertise in SEO optimisation as we have a dedicated SEO Specialist on the team to handle those aspects. The focus of this role is on driving the overall product strategy, user experience, and technical integration of the website.

Key Qualifications:
  • Product Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in product management roles, particularly in digital or online products, is a cornerstone for this position. Your ability to strategise, execute, and iterate on product improvements will be central to success.
  • User-Centric Mindset: Understanding user behavior and needs is paramount. Experience with user research, usability testing, and creating exceptional user experiences will guide the website's evolution.
  • Technical Understanding: While not needing to be a developer, having a strong grasp of web technologies, software development processes, and APIs will allow you to effectively communicate with development teams and oversee technical integration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: The role heavily involves working with diverse teams. Proven experience in collaborating across disciplines, especially with developers, designers, and marketers, will be crucial.
  • Strategic Thinking: Crafting and executing strategic plans aligned with business goals is a must. Your ability to create and manage a product roadmap that delivers both short-term wins and long-term vision is vital.
  • User Experience (UX) Design: Familiarity with UX principles, wireframing, and prototyping tools can help you drive improvements in the website's user interface and overall user experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for presenting your product vision, gathering feedback, and aligning stakeholders across the organisation.
