ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a .NET Platform Engineer, you will technically enhance, maintain and support the codebase and services that this company's application is built upon.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assisting developers with best-practice focussed code reviews
  • Implementing new and improving existing standard approaches to consuming services e.g. search, cache, database, logging etc.
  • Developing design guidelines related to best practice e.g. how data is accessed from code
  • Play a supporting role in developing and maintaining the platform technology roadmaps
  • Monitoring and improving the use of caching technologies as applicable
  • Performance tuning and related improvements to existing systems
  • Root cause analysis of performance issues and suggesting corrective actions
  • Monitoring performance metrics across the company's web-based products
  • Making recommendations and applying improvements to performance monitoring platforms
  • Identifying slow performing endpoints and carrying out performance improvements
  • Summarising and communicating the impact of performance improvements to the wider business

ABOUT YOU:
  • The ability to operate autonomously, prioritise your time effectively and make independent decisions
  • Solid experience working with performance monitoring platforms such a New Relic and Raygun
  • A thorough understanding of typical performance bottlenecks and how to solve them
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS DevOps and Ms Azure
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and terminology - SCRUM and Kanban
  • Experience with T-SQL or similar database query language highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Azure or AWS very advantageous
