ABOUT THE COMPANY:
This is an exciting opportunity to step into this newly created role within a real New Zealand success story. This company has branches nation wide, and are a household name within their industry. 

Offices are based in Wellington, with flexibility on start and finish times, and work from home days. There is some travel in this role where you will meet with vendors in Auckland, a company car is provided in the package. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:
A new opportunity within the business to strategically work with the wider Senior Leadership team to make sure that the business is getting the most out of their IT systems. You will partner closely with exisiting vendors to ensure the smooth running of the IT function across branches that are nation wide. 

Since this is a newly created role, there is a lot of room to mould the role to be your own, and with ambitious business growth plans, you will be able to grow with the business also. You will bring your solid IT systems knowledge, as well as your strategic mindset and business partnering abilities to the role. 

This role has no direct reports and is the sole IT person in the business.

Some of your focus will be: 
Strategic Planning
  • Responsible for defining the strategic direction required of the It infrastructure and systems to meet the current and future business needs.
  • Establish and manage relationships and scope of work with all third party vendors.
  • Responsible for developing all financial budgets related to IT
Project Planning / Managing
  • Develop and manage all projects plans related to ICT systems to ensure all projects are managed on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate with all third party vendors to ensure effective collaboration and communication
  • Ensure all third party vendors are meeting expectations outlined service level agreements
System Administration / Maintenance
  • Ensure all systems and software are performing
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with third party vendors and bring to resolution
  • Manage all third party IT vendors
ABOUT YOU:
You will be at a stage in your career where you are looking for a role where you can be more strategic and really own your area. You will come from a strong technical background with IT Infrastructure and troubleshooting IT systems. 
  • Strong communication skills, you will be working alongside other Senior Leaders to ensure that the IT function is working smoothly for them 
  • You will come from a IT systems background, ideally from Helpdesk Support and troubleshooting, and will be looking to take a step up in your career 
  • Strong Vendor management, able to get the most from Vendors and manage them effectively 
  • A can do attitude, be the type of person who will get elbows deep to fix issues. 
  • Work with bespoke, industry specific software (be able to pick things up quickly and be naturally curious)
