 ABOUT THE COMPANY:

This company is a B2B FinTech start-up and a current team of 6 who are looking at scaling their team as their demand grows. The business has a large trajectory of growth in the pipeline and are looking at taking their product to the next level. 

They already have an excellent customer base already with companies you will know. You will be based out of a shared co-working space in Ponsonby and working with a fun, social and passionate team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a talented Product Designer to join as an integral part of a growing technology team to help us create amazing user experiences. You'll be partnering with the Founders and have the ability to take an idea from conception through to delivery. 

The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UI and UX skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artefacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interface.

ABOUT YOU:

As the Head of Product Designer you'll with extensive experience under your belt, you’ll be expected to take a more leading role, working closely with developers, product managers and the founders. You’ll need to deliver in line with time constraints, and be able to confidently make — and defend — design decisions.

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to bring the following:

● 5+ years’ experience working in a UI / UX role and have a portfolio reflecting your experience. 
● Ability to innovate and develop out-of-the-box solutions to complex user interaction problems.
● Strong presentation skills.
● Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
● Experience in design for mobile applications.
● Ability to adapt and pivot quickly - you'll thrive in a fast paced environment. 
● Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
● Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
● Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma Sketch, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
● Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
● Appropriate qualification in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related.
● An appreciation for constant iteration of the product design to satisfy customer need.

Task and responsibilities

● Develop standard UI components and style guides for company-wide use.
● Effectively communicate your designs to developers and other key stakeholders.
● Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off.
● Conduct industry research and stay up-to-date on best practices, competitor UX and UI designs and emerging technologies.
● Conduct, observe and analyse usability testing sessions.
● Develop consistent, intuitive architectures.
● Support the team to make sure features are implemented as intended.
