ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity in which you will liaise with the engineering (Product, Integrations, QA) teams to anticipate and support their needs in terms of environments. Responsibilities will include:
- Github, GitLab Administration, (YouTrack a plus)
- Integrate and align internal, customer and partner build systems
- Work with senior developers and SW build experts to architect and implement new build systems, system features and improvements which bring benefits both on developer desktop and in automation
- Dive into build internals (eg CMake, GitLab CI yaml, Python and shell scripts) in order to refactor and improve the build system design
- Actively monitor performance of continuous and nightly jobs in terms of duration, memory and CPU usage
- Participate in the planning and operations of build system enhancements and change reviews
- Perform code reviews of code/scripts as requested, and ensure all code/scripts are reviewed
- Use existing conventions, styles where possible
- Design and develop the tools to allow efficient configuration management, build and release of software developed in C++/CUDA, SQL Server databases, web based infrastructure components
- Proactively identify the data pipeline tools that will be needed throughout development
- Work with other teams to collect, present and maintain, useful metrics from build and test jobs for developers
- Assist as requested with one-off build requests, code signing and Apple notarisation on secure systems
- Continuously improve existing system
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking someone with extensive experience as a Build Engineer/DevOps Software Engineer. In addition you will need:
- Expert knowledge and experience in CMake, Python, Visual Studio, Xcode, GCC, clang/llvm, custom tools, code signing, notarisation
- Good understanding of compilers
- Experience in building production applications
- Ability to work in a team that is distributed globally
- Experience with Windows/macOS/Linux and also Powershell, bash and/or zsh.
