ABOUT THE COMPANY:
One of the largest fully integrated logistics providers in New Zealand, they offer seamless global supply chain solutions.  Entering a period of exciting transformation, they are seeking an interim CIO.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Chief Information Officer, you will develop and lead the information technology strategy for this organisation and its subsidiaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supporting, managing, motivating and mentoring the team to enable them to add value to our company through effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy and proactive contributions
  • Ensuring IT systems, infrastructure and digital solutions are aligned with group objectives
  • Overseeing the development and execution of IT strategies
  • Managing technology budgets
  • Ensuring cybersecurity and data protection compliance
  • Collaborate with other leaders to drive digital excellence, enhance operational efficiencies and deliver exceptional customer experiences
ABOUT YOU:
Experience in the transport/logistics sector is highly desirable for this role. We are seeking someone with the following:
  • A minimum of 10–15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles such as IT Director, Head of Technology, or similar
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and emerging technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics
  • Experience implementing enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) and overseeing digital transformation initiatives
  • Expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and risk management
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements specific to New Zealand, such as the Privacy Act 2020 and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Strong understanding of IT operational systems, processes, and tools.
  • Expertise in risk management, compliance, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of fostering high-performance cultures.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Resilience, adaptability, and ability to manage complex and dynamic challenges
