ABOUT THE ROLE: As the Chief Information Officer, you will develop and lead the information technology strategy for this organisation and its subsidiaries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting, managing, motivating and mentoring the team to enable them to add value to our company through effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy and proactive contributions
Ensuring IT systems, infrastructure and digital solutions are aligned with group objectives
Overseeing the development and execution of IT strategies
Managing technology budgets
Ensuring cybersecurity and data protection compliance
Collaborate with other leaders to drive digital excellence, enhance operational efficiencies and deliver exceptional customer experiences
ABOUT YOU: Experience in the transport/logistics sector is highly desirable for this role. We are seeking someone with the following:
A minimum of 10–15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles such as IT Director, Head of Technology, or similar
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and emerging technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics
Experience implementing enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) and overseeing digital transformation initiatives
Expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and risk management
Knowledge of compliance requirements specific to New Zealand, such as the Privacy Act 2020 and cybersecurity frameworks
Strong understanding of IT operational systems, processes, and tools.
Expertise in risk management, compliance, and quality assurance frameworks
Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of fostering high-performance cultures.
Outstanding problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Resilience, adaptability, and ability to manage complex and dynamic challenges
