ABOUT THE ROLE:
With significant modernisation underway, the Cloud Architect plays a pivotal role within the team. The role provides cloud leadership through setting clear patterns, guiding solution design, and supporting delivery teams to build secure, resilient, and scalable digital solutions. It’s a chance to be part of a close‑knit architecture team, influencing cloud design decisions that directly support digital experiences used daily by many of New Zealanders.

ABOUT YOU:

• A deep understanding of how to design reliable, secure, and scalable cloud solutions that serve thousands of users.
• Extensive experience working with Microsoft Azure, ideally have an Azure Architect certification
• Confidence working with Microsoft Azure environments and knowing how to choose the right tools for the job.
• The ability to break down complex technical ideas and explain them clearly to teammates, leaders, and non-technical people.
• Experience designing systems that stay stable under pressure, particularly traffic spikes, real-time integrations, and high-demand situations.
• A strong grasp of security best practices and how to build solutions that keep people and data safe.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement
• The ability to collaborate with product teams, engineers, and vendors to create solutions that work end-to-end.
• A natural desire to share knowledge, mentor others, and uplift the cloud capability around you.
