About the role: 
  
Hero has seen phenomenal growth, and not just here in NZ.  This is a rare opportunity to be the first CTO in an exciting business and help take them to the next level.
  
As the CTO, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and innovation by managing the development and deployment of new technologies and products. You will bring your strong technical background, as well as your people and relationship management skills to the table. As part of the Executive Team, you will work across the whole business, and will have 10 direct reports.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Strategy and leadership: The CTO will help to develop the overall technology strategy, in line with the business plan. 
  • Product: This role will work closely with the CPO to ensure new products are fully specced and inline with overall business strategy. 
  • Knowledge and skills: The CTO will keep up to date with latest technology developments and how this may impact the business. They will also need to direct senior stakeholders on how this will impact future plans. 
  • Security: Lead the security and reliability of the company's technology infrastructure and data.
  • Team: The team culture at Hero is second to none! The CTO will work across the whole team, and will lead and support their amazing team of developers. The CTO will help to continue to foster a positive working culture, as well as continue to grow and develop the technical team. 
Who are you and what is your background?
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in technology management, with a proven track record of leading the development and deployment of new products and technologies. 
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in software development, data analysis, and technology architecture. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically and to develop and implement technology solutions that support the overall business strategy. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities. 
  • A passion for technology and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements
