This role will capture business requirements, processes, tools, systems and user stories; define opportunities for improvement; undertake various analyses to formulate evidence-based recommendations; and translate business needs into solutions

You will be a team player, the type of person who will help the team tackle any problems, will think outside of the box, and will help others when you see a roadblock. The team works in Agile, and are looking for someone who rates themselves strong in that space.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document project requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of business needs.
  • Identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement and innovation; conduct in-depth data analysis, utilise various analytical techniques to derive insights; and formulate actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare documentation including requirements analysis, process maps, user profile, journey maps, options assessment, feasibility studies, business specifications and design, and support documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation and presentations are appropriate, clear, comprehensive and completed to a high standard within agreed timeframes.

Who are you and what is your profile?
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or at least 5 years of business analyst experience.
  • Well-developed analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the desire to probe deeper into data with the ability to formulate well-reasoned solutions.
  • Solid experience in service design or similar customer-focused approaches.
  • Proven project management, analytical and leadership skills.
  • Good understanding of the machinery of government, including planning, budgeting and reporting cycles.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A disciplined, systematic approach to work with an ability to prioritise.
  • Experience in the translation of policy into practice.
