ABOUT THE ROLE:
With 5-6 direct reports and up to 25 indirect reports, this is a key role in the R&D group, with the purpose to deliver high-end software to a range of the company's products before they reach the customers.
  
Your focus will be to ensure your team is running as efficiently as possible, making sure short and long-term goals are clearly defined and articulated. You will achieve this by engaging and collaborating widely with key stakeholders to keep them in the loop - giving regular updates and providing transparency on team progress.  Your role is a fluid one allowing you to adapt your focus in specific areas as your team’s performance peaks and troughs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project planning and resource management
  • Sustaining engineering activities
  • Vendor/supplier management
  • Technical leadership
  • Architecture development
  • Implementing and improving software quality assurance processes in conjunction with QA Team Leader 
  • New product development and quality processes
  • Talent development and capability improvement
  • Evaluating the existing software development and testing tools to maximize the efficiency of software development and validation

ABOUT YOU:
  •  A minimum of 5 years software development management experience responsible for implementing SDLC and other related procedures, policies and supporting business systems (version control, bug tracking, product support, project management).
  • A minimum of 3 years software project management experience
  • Previous software product development experience within a structured software development environment, with knowledge of software build tools, test methodologies, techniques and processes
  • Fully experienced in SDLC concepts, systems and procedures. ISO9001 experience is beneficial.
  • MS Project (Enterprise and Standard), Excel, Word experience.
  • Proven leader of people that can get results and the best of people
