ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Cloud and Platform Engineer, you will own and engineer core cloud platforms and endpoint management, with accountability for reliability, security, and continuous improvement across the New Zealand environment. This role ensures the stable, secure, and auditable delivery of IT services for this impressive organisation.

You will collaborate closely with the Modern Workplace Engineer and Security Engineer to support a modern, cloud-first, and security-led environment; ensuring maintenance of service stability, reducing operational risk, and meeting client expectations around security, reliability, and audit evidence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is responsible for the engineering, optimisation, and lifecycle management of core platforms, including Microsoft 365 and Intune, and associated endpoints. This includes execution of operational controls such as patching, configuration, and monitoring, as well as leading the resolution of complex platform and identity issues that require technical analysis beyond Level 2 support.

ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking someone with exceptional communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.  In addition, you will need:
  • Proven experience operating as a senior engineer in a cloud-first environment
  • Experience owning platform configuration and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong PowerShell scripting capability
  • Experience automating M365 and endpoint management tasks
  • Strong experience engineering Microsoft environments: M365, Teams, Intune, and identity/access fundamentals
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Conditional Access policies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain operational controls: patching, configuration, monitoring, and incident resolution
  • Strong written documentation and evidence discipline (tickets, changes, knowledge articles)
  • Ability to work within change processes and operate in a controlled environment
  • Experience operating within audit-driven or controlled environments, with strong evidence discipline
