ABOUT THE COMPANY:
A well-known organisation in the public sector.  They offer the chance to work on various large projects in a great working environment.  Very flexible working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office and the rest from the home.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Within this role, you will work on various systems upgrades, business process and legislative projects.  This variation means we are looking for a true all-rounder.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the successful delivery of complex projects from the portfolio of work under PMO, by using sound project management techniques, as part of the PMO team
  • Providing support for the preparation of business cases and reviewing business cases produced by others
  • Identification, scoping and managing assigned projects, ensuring deliverables meet required quality standards and are within agreed budget and timeline parameters
  • Provide periodic reporting as required by the PMO and key business stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting metrics and mechanisms
  • Identify, manage and report on risks and issues throughout the life of the projects

ABOUT YOU:
  • At least 7 years project management experience, with a proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple workstreams
  • Proven track record and experience in managing the delivery of contemporary business applications to support defined functional outcomes
  • Experience working on business process focused projects
  • Experience working on legislative projects in a public sector environment desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to prepare documentation and other material for both technical and business audiences
  • Experience in the preparation of business cases and in providing support to key stakeholders in undertaking option analysis
  • Excellent analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with sound financial and operational knowledge
  • Well-developed planning and organising skills, including the ability to maintain performance when under pressure, and consistently deliver on time and to a good standard
  • Strong self-management skills – sound social judgement, mature and professional conduct,
    and an ability to effectively manage own workload
  • Ability to think strategically and to build and maintain positive relationships, working constructively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
