ABOUT THE ROLE:
Within this intermediate-level role, you will sit at the heart of the organisation's data ecosystem, turning complex data into trusted, high-value insights that power smarter decisions across the business. Working on exciting projects across the transformation programme, your days will be varied, hands-on and collaborative.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing, building and maintaining modern cloud-based data pipelines that reliably move data from source systems into the data platform
• Transforming raw data into well-structured, analytics-ready datasets that the team love to use
• Ensuring data quality, integrity and governance standards are embedded into everything you build
• Work closely with analysts, data scientists, IT and business stakeholders to understand the needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
• Monitoring data loads, troubleshooting issues and resolving failures to minimise business impact
• Exploring new data sources and continuously improving how data is collected, stored and used across the business
• Supporting analytics, reporting and machine learning initiatives with high‑quality, timely and well‑documented data
• Sharing insights, explaining data clearly, and helping lift data literacy across the organisation
• Keeping up with data engineering trends and bringing fresh ideas that add real value to the business

ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who is passionate about their craft and quality of work.  With a strong understanding of Big Data, you'll have a mix of technical capability, curiosity and commercial thinking, along with:

• Strong experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data platforms in a cloud environment
• Confidence working with large, complex datasets and turning them into well‑structured, reliable data that others can easily use
• Solid knowledge of SQL and/or Python, and experience working with modern data tools and warehouses
• A good understanding of data quality, governance and why trusted data really matters to decision making
• The ability to connect technical work to real business needs—understanding what people are trying to achieve and how data can support that
• Experience working closely with analysts, data scientists and non‑technical stakeholders, and explaining data clearly and simply
• Experience with Databricks and Snowflake is highly desirable
