Our client is a leading fin-tech business in New Zealand with an extremely strong global presence. They are an innovative, fully integrated platform designed with simplicity at its core. They have been rapidly growing over the past 5 years and have offices in Australia and the UK as well. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The companies growth means that they have exponentially grown their volume of data collected, and have increased their dependence on timely and accurate data to make business decisions. Behind the ability to query and derive insight of our data is a layer of engineering which ensures the reliability, and agility of our data infrastructure (e.g. our data warehouses, data pipelines, batch processes).

We are looking for someone with a passion for data who can deliver innovative solutions, enabling us to showcase valuable insights from our data, that drives performance in all areas of our business. In this role you’ll be providing hands-on engineering and infrastructure support, working closely with the rest of the Data Team as well key stakeholders from our Product, Development, and Marketing teams to ensure the delivery of a first class data and analytics platform.

ABOUT YOU: 
  • 3+ years experience working in Data Engineering teams, in either batch based Extract Transform Load (ETL) or Streaming based environments, exposure to Airflow, Kafka, dbt, Snowflake is a plus
  • Proven ability to work in all parts of the software development lifecycle with a focus on Data Warehousing and Data Products
  • Experience in AWS, Python
  • Keen to work with Snowflake, dbt 
  • An ability to design data pipelines and write the code necessary to deliver them
  • A great understanding what it takes to write, manage and deliver an API
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, design and develop automation tests for API and Data flows
  • Demonstrated history of participation in Agile Teams to design, configure and build innovative software solutions
  • If you’ve got experience in financial technology and/or retail that would be a bonus!
  • Are resilient, positive self motivated, driven by challenges, open to feedback, love to learn + flexible to change
